Hi! I'm Mamma Rita, and I'm Happy to See You
My name is Rita Ferrante, and I am a proud mother, a joyful grandmother, and a passionate chef. I have been cooking italian meals with my mom since the age of 7 in my native Abruzzo, Italy, and in my adopted home, Montreal Canada.I fulfilled a life long dream, and became a restaurant owner, with much success at two different locations in Montreal. I have also been featured on a French broadcast of "Sur la terrasse" on at least 3 occasions where I have been interviewed while I prepared an authentic italian meal. (I will post my videos at the bottom of this post.)
I also ran a successful cooking school for single parents through a community-run program here in Quebec. How satisfying it is for me to see students who acquire confidence in the kitchen, and easily make healthy, and delicious meals instead of ordering take-out!
I enjoyed several summers as the executive chef at the 127-year-old prestigious "Club de chasse et pêche Lac nord", in Quebec, as well as being privileged as the personal chef for 20 years to a world renowned, and exceptional Canadian actor and his young family, when they would return from filming around the world.
Although my family wishes I would retire and enjoy my life, I can never give up my passion to cook! And who says I'm not enjoying my life in my beloved kitchen? I am now ready to begin a brand new journey in creating a new edition of Mamma Rita!

Let me teach you some awesome skillsOne of my favourite things to continue doing, is to teach how to prepare simple italian dishes, and if you are up to the challenge, I will raise the bar to something more complex. We make a plan, I shop for the groceries, and come prepared with my chef's tool box to your home!
Personal Chef Services
Life has become so rushed for so many. Whether you are single, coupled, children or not, time is worth it's ticks in gold! Let's plan a menu together and leave the rest to me. I will shop, and either in my kitchen or yours, I will cook up a storm. Oh, and the clean up is on me! Daily meal prep or weekly fresh or flash frozen, you will always have nutritious and delicious meals ready when you are.

Although Mamma Rita has a menu of typical italian meals, if you don't see your favourite dish on the list, (ask me to send you my menu) let me know and I will prepare it with love! Are you on a gluten-free or vegetarian lifestyle? No worries. I have that covered too.

Italian cuisine is not only spaghetti and meatballs but so much more. Imagine, pork cutlets, stuffed peppers, stuffed chicken legs with artichokes, gnocchis with rosé sauce, meat cannelloni or cheese manicotti, veal scaloppini, pizza. I would be happy to apply a discount when you pickup your complete menu. Delivery options, of course, are always available.
When the local weekly specials arrive, typically every Wednesday, I will search for the best quality food items at the lowest price, and create your menu for the week starting the following Monday. Together, we can plan a nutritious and delicious - and inexpensive menu or leave the details all up to me! It would be my pleasure.
